Mental Health Tips for Quarantine

  • Because we are used to being with others, this time of social isolation can
  • be stressful on both our bodies and our minds/spirits and we need to take
  • care of both. Here are some helpful hints.

  Take time daily to express appreciation and love for those with whom you are
        quarantined

  •   Limit complaint time – find others outside your household with whom you might vent

  •   Find some alone time – listen to music, read a book, do a puzzle, knit….

  •   Don’t forget basic self care – eat well, get some exercise and 8 hours of sleep

  •   Stay connected with others virtually – Facetime, Zoom

  •   Maintain a sense of normalcy – have a schedule and go about your day with
         some purpose

  •   Find ways to continue to do the things with others you usually did – create a
virtual book club, birthday celebrations via zoom

  •   Set boundaries for work and home life

  •   Try to get some fresh air every day

  •   Limit time watching the news and using technology

  •   Focus on the present not the future

  •   Remember that this will pass
